Radio Operator/Jailer Position

$29.72, full-time, full benefits package


We are seeking individuals interested in a long-term career within the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department.
These are full-time positions, with an hourly wage of $29.72. This is a combined Radio Operator and Jailer
position. Duties include dispatching emergency requests for fire, police and rescue, operating computer
equipment and maintaining the general operation of the jail.


Qualifications: U.S. citizen, high school graduate, at least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license, no felony
convictions, good verbal and written communication skills. Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Jail certified applicants preferred. Applicants will be tested to determine qualifications. Must also pass a medical and physical exam, psychological exam and background check.

Over the last few years there have been an increasing amount of issues with our current faclity and it has come time that we look for the best long term solution to these issues. The WI Statewide VINE system is a service through which victims of crime can use the telephone or Internet to search for information regarding the custody status of their offender and to register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when the offender’s custody status changes. The VINE toll-free number for the WI Statewide VINE system is 888-868-4631.  This service is provided to assist crime victims and other community members who have a right to know about the offenders currently in the custody of the Sheriff’s Department.
